A simple way to also prevent ice dams is roof shoveling, which is shoveling snow off your roof. We can come out after each snow storm, or come out on an on call basis to clear your roof of snow. For ice dam removal, we will actually go up on your roof and remove the ice dams. This is a manual process and is done from ladders. In severe cases we can also use heat to melt the ice. Once the ice is gone, your roof should drain properly, although the problem can re-occur if the root cause is not addressed.
